At Salib Oncology & Hematology, we strive to create a comfortable,

welcoming environment for our Chemotherapy patients.

You Are Not in This Alone

As research continues, we are dealing with new drugs that are more effective and have fewer side effects. There are some newer agents available that didn’t exist two or three years ago, and others are new within the last six months to a year.

Today, patients with certain types of advanced cancer, such as breast, colon, lung and esophageal, among others, may receive chemotherapy prior to surgical intervention. The purpose of this approach is to hopefully “shrink” the size of a tumor, allowing more patients to undergo surgery – one of the most important lines of attack in the treatment of specific cancers. There are also several new treatments that can be given after surgery.

Our knowledge of how cancer cells are formed has increased dramatically in recent years and we are learning more about how the body fights back, allowing us to use this knowledge to develop new chemotherapeutic agents that attack cancer at the cellular level, wiping out deadly cancer cells, while, hopefully, sparing normal cells. We’re beginning to make some significant gains in the treatment of hard-to-treat cancers.

Our patients receive chemotherapy in the comfort of our day treatment centers, which feature bright, inviting settings with plenty of windows and added amenities live televisions, computer tablets, reading materials and companionship when desired - all adding to our home-like atmosphere.

At Salib Oncology, we are a local, independently-owned facility

with ties to local hospitals and physician networks throughout the area.

Our mission is to provide affordable, effective, local care

to the residents of the Greater Lehigh Valley area and beyond.
